She was a homemaker while raising her three sons.

Ellen was born June 18, 1965 in Queens, New York to the late John Edward Dugan and Mary Rose Rice Dugan. She worked for Grumman in St. Augustine, FL, and also at the Sarasota County Court House. Ellen loved the outdoors, and was an active snow and water skier, kayaker, and traveler.
